Keeping An Eye on IPC

Learning Displays

Have you had a chance to look around the corridors at school? Throughout, they are bursting with colour. Inside the classrooms you will find the same rainbow of colours.

So, what are these flashes of colour? They are actually specifically designed displays for learning! Each colour represents a specific subject or area of the IPC, and the displays use the same colours in both the classrooms and corridors. As the IPC is broken down into different subjects for each unit, these displays help children make connections to the lesson focus and the subject of the learning goal they are completing.

From the beginning of an IPC unit children can use the boards to know what they will be learning, where they can improve their learning, and how much they have learnt through a unit. On these display boards you will see pictures of the children engaged in their learning, some of the learning they have produced, and reflections on their learning. Importantly these boards are used to stimulate discussion on learning. You can see younger children explaining their learning to older children and vice versa as they make their way along the display boards sharing the pictures and learning experiences.

See the grid below for exactly what these colours represent.

You can see these wonderful boards in action during our entry and exit points whereby children will be able to guide you through their colourful learning journey.
